What Snipe does: Snipe is a kHs-Disperser-style allpass chain — up to 128 identical 2nd-order stages in the time domain. It rotates phase around a centre frequency without changing magnitude at all, creating a frequency-dependent group delay. That's the sound of 808 zips, rounded kicks, and laser risers. It's deterministic, phase-coherent, bass-safe, mono-safe, and runs at zero latency.

The Live Display
Snipe's entire interface is one interactive display showing the group-delay response over the spectrum — how much each frequency is time-shifted right now.
Drag (X)
Sets Freq
Move horizontally to change the centre frequency.
Drag (Y)
Sets Amount
Move vertically to change the stage count.
Mouse Wheel
Sets Pinch
Scroll to narrow or widen the per-stage Q.
Double-Click
Turns it off
Instantly sets Amount to 0 — true bypass.

Amount
The main intensity control — how many allpass stages are chained together.

Continuous and clickless. 0 is a true, bit-exact bypass — no filter in the signal path at all.

Freq & Pinch
Where the dispersion happens, and how tightly focused it is.
Freq
20 Hz – 20 kHz
The centre frequency around which phase rotates.
Pinch
0.05 – 3
Per-stage Q. Low values spread the effect wide; high values focus it tightly around Freq.

Typical Workflow
A
808 Zip
Insert Snipe on a sub hit. Set Freq to the note's fundamental, then drag Amount up until you hear the classic dispersion sweep. Increase Pinch for a sharper, more focused zip.

Rounded Kick
On a kick channel, use a lower Amount and wider Pinch for a gentler phase smoothing that rounds the transient without an audible sweep.

Laser Riser
Automate Freq to sweep upward through a build, keeping Amount high — the moving centre frequency reads as rising movement.
D
Double-Click to Compare
Double-click anywhere on the display to instantly bypass, so you can A/B against the untouched signal without reaching for a plugin toggle.
